Over 2 weeks delivery time
I don’t really know how to rate these shoes, because I have still not worn them. I ordered them on April 21 with an expected delivery on Saturday, the 27th. The shoes arrived on May 7th, when I was already out of the country. Seems like 16 day delivery time is a little too long in those days and times.

Trash compared to the MOAB 2
I have had this pair for about 6 months. I have worn MOAB 2s for several years, deployed and home. I walk about 4 miles a day in them. Never an issue with the 2s. Initially I was curious as to why a company would change their flagship model, but thought I would give them a go. New is better, right? WRONG! The MOAB 3 is TRASH. There should be an option to give zero stars; it is what these boots have earned. I don't know what you did to these, but they are complete garbage compared to the 2. The heel cup is just weird, and has never fit correctly. The new sole is "Meh" at best. I have already broken a lace eyelet thing. Go back to making the MOAB 2s. Just because you did "something" doesn't make them better.

Low cut good, higher boot not so much.
Have both a high and low pair. Had the low shoe first and like it. Higher one not so much. Heel feels to high. Seems to encourage me to lean and walk back on my heels. Fits well otherwise but is uncomfortable to walk around because of the weird balance feeling.

This Boot Is "The One"
I've bought about 10 pairs of the Moab 3 in the last 10 years (both waterproof and non-waterproof), and this is the best hiking shoe / boot I have ever owned. I've tried various brands over the years prior, and each had their shortcomings... not so with the Merrell. Nothing negative about the boot - even the factory insole is very good (at one point, I replaced with a Good Feet insole, which made the feel worse, so I switched back). Stop shopping for boots, this is the one...

Amazing traction on variety of surfaces
I bought these before a hiking trip out to Arizona. Wow was I impressed. Much better traction then typical outdoor chain store brand. They are almost too grippy on rock faces. If you need to pivot your foot. You will have to relieve a little pressure first. In dirt covered rock face these boots bite into the surface with authority and give the traction you need. They are all day comfortable, and have never let me down. The cost is way cheaper than a broken ankle and a ruined vacation!
